June 2: 2nd Annual Community Day A Great Success!
Washington's 2012 Community Day, sponsored by the Washington Business Association, was a great success despite beginning under gray, rainy skies that threatened to dampen spirits and undermine its success. But in typical Washington fashion, more than 60 exhibitors rallied with energy, commitment, and endless enthusiasm and the weather and community did not disappoint. Crowds of neighbors, friends, and residents, as well as weekend visitors, filled the main and second levels of Bryan Memorial Town Hall and, as the sky cleared and the sun appeared, groups lingered, chatting happily, at the several lovely booths set up outside the entrance.
Throughout the day local performers filled the stage, entertaining visitors with a variety of delightful performances. Participating Washington businesses and organizations sold their products, distributed information, and provided samples and gifts as gestures of appreciation to the community for thinking global and buying local. Several businesses were stationed under tents on the lawn and throughout Bryan Memorial Plaza, and colorful flowers from Painter Ridge Farm and the Washington Business Association welcomed guests on the steps of Town Hall.
A wonderful spirit of friendliness and conviviality shone throughout the day with lots of exuberant smiles and enthusiastic conversations, welcoming hugs, neighborly greetings, and a considerable consumption of a variety of delicious food and culinary treats! Fun for kids and grownups alike!

June 10: Peter & Barbara Talbot Host Reception for Elizabeth Esty at The Green House, Bell Hill Road, Washington
At the May Democratic state convention Elizabeth Esty locked up a spot in the upcoming August Primary for Democratic nominee for the seat in the House of Representatives from Connecticut's 5th District.
Dozens of Washington residents joined one another for an opportunity to discuss their issues of concern with Elizabeth and hear the compelling reasons why she is convinced she is the Democrat who can win against the Republican candidate for this important position.
It was a lovely and informative get together and thanks go to the Talbots for their generosity in hosting this event.
